  • This cloth is made with Kala cotton. Kala cotton is indigenous to Kutch in India and by default organic, as the farmers do not use any pesticides or synthetic fertilisers. It is a purely rain-fed crop that has a high tolerance for both disease and pests and requires minimal investment. The cotton has a beautiful rustic quality and we love it for it’s eco credentials and raw beauty.
  • Indian handlooms are sometimes susceptible to irregularities in the weave due to their handmade nature, this is all part of their charm and are not classed as flaws. Marks will wash out, they're usually from the fabric being dried outside, sometimes on the ground!
  • For the first couple of washes, place the fabric in the washing machine drum at 30 or 40 degrees with a handful of table salt.
  • Please note that as this cloth is heavily dyed with natural indigo we recommend for the first couple of washes, place the fabric in the washing machine drum at 30 or 40 degrees with a handful of table salt. This will help fix the dye, however the indigo will continue to come out and lose colour over time.
