Finn Flower Handwoven Extra Weft Indian Organic Cotton - Merchant & Mills
A unique handcrafted Kala cotton in natural ecru with tiny red and blue ditsy flowers woven through using extra weft technique. Extra weft is where additional weft yarns in contrasting colours, are woven through to create a motif. This yarn is woven in with the structural yarns.
Kala cotton is a purely rain fed cotton indigenous to the Kachchh region of India. It is grown in a sustainable way due to the resilient nature of the plant, the use of pesticides or synthetic fertilizers are not needed. It forms a strong and coarse fibre that produces a uniquely textured cloth.
This cloth would make beautiful skirts, dresses, tops and shirts. It would also be suitable for lightweight curtains.

- Indian handlooms are sometimes susceptible to irregularities in the weave due to their handmade nature, this is all part of their charm and are not classed as flaws. Marks will wash out, they're usually from the fabric being dried outside, sometimes on the ground!
- For the first couple of washes, place the fabric in the washing machine drum at 30 or 40 degrees with a handful of table salt.
